Ray Kelly Gives The Smackdown To the Mayoral Contenders

Ray Kelly Gives The Smackdown To the Mayoral Contenders

I think the commissioner was a bit off the mark, since — as Lhota’s spokeswoman pointed out — the protocol is for the eventual nominees to get briefings from the commissioner. I doubt he has the time to sit down and explain life to the horde of dopes.

Not surprisingly, Carlos Danger and John Liu (I’ll be elected mayor before either of them ever will, and I’m never gonna run) took this as an opportunity to throw lame punches above their (intellectual) weight classes and take insipid cheap shots at a far better man than a serial creepy perv and a city comptroller under federal investigation for campaign fundraising “irregularities.”

City Controller John Liu dismissed Kelly’s critique, saying: “Commissioner Kelly is doing as all commissioners are doing for Mayor [Michael] Bloomberg, insisting that the current administration knows best about everything. Nobody understands better than I do that our city is still on the front lines in the war against terrorism.”

Really, crook? How do you understand better than anyone else???

Please, Lord, Let This Be Over Already! Haven’t We Suffered Enough?

Please, Lord, Let This Be Over Already! Haven’t We Suffered Enough?

From the NY Daily News guide to the Star Wars bar scene group of mayoral contenders:

About Weiner:

BIG IDEA: Universal health care for New Yorkers through a single-payer system; “oligarch tax” on sale of expensive apartments.

No idea how he plans to pay for universal health care and whether it would include covering all the illegal aliens here. If the creepy perv had ever worked a real job in his life, he might have realized that taxing the sale of “expensive apartments” will not even come close to covering his scheme, and will only serve to make those who own “expensive apartments” find other ways to get something in return for their “expensive apartments,” other than money.

With crime set to increase if stop-and-frisk is banned and other anti-police measures put in place, and the continuing economic difficulties, this is Bill Thompson’s big idea???

BIG IDEA: Longer school days; expanded pre-K system.

No wonder he’s trailing.

John Liu has about as much chance of becoming the next mayor as I do, so his idea of a mandatory minimum wage of $11.50/hr is a big yawn. Perhaps a better use of his time would be to focus on why everyone around him gets arrested, convicted, and sentenced to prison.

John Catsimatidis is a true embarrassment. The self-professed Clinton Democrat, who also contributed to Cuomo needs to shut his gaping maw and go away.

BIG IDEA: Bringing a world’s fair to New York; putting cops on tricycles to improve their mobility.

WHAT’S HE LIKE: Prone to quirky, off-the-cuff comments, as in, “I have a love factor with the minorities.”

The ONLY candidate who is close to sane is Joe Lhota, who understands the importance of keeping crime rates down.

In a city such as New York, THESE are the best we can come up with???

The Primaries Are Two Days Away… So, The Circus Is In Town!

The Primaries Are Two Days Away… So, The Circus Is In Town!

From blatant, patronizing pandering to various ethnic minorities to having idiot celebrities appear with them at the podiums, the Dems vying to be the next NYC mayor are putting on quite a show. It belongs under a tent, with 3 rings of activity.

And since his staffers probably took away his phone, Weiner went on TV…

In a turn on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Weiner said that his wife, Huma Abedin — absent from the campaign since Weiner’s second sexting scandal erupted in July — might not join him on Election Night. “I don’t know,” he said.

Thompson’s and de Blasio’s Deceptive Promises in Race for Mayor

Thompson’s and de Blasio’s Deceptive Promises in Race for Mayor

Some Democrats I’ve talked to who support Thompson or Christine Quinn, now in third place, tell me they would bolt the party and vote for Joe Lhota, the leading Republican, over de Blasio in the general election.

I know more than a few lifelong Dems who are so disgusted with the entire Dem field that they’re supporting Lhota. They think the Dems are all insane and will destroy the city, if given the chance — and they don’t want to give them the chance. Hopefully this trend will catch on.

Michael Bloomberg Set To Endorse Lhota

Michael Bloomberg Set To Endorse Lhota

Mayor Bloomberg has always been a liberal who only ran on the Republican line here in New York because he bought it, but he even has his limits. Now that hardcore leftist Bill DeBlasio is surging in the polls and promising to dismantle every common sense measure that has made this city safe, Bloomberg supposedly wants to prevent the Public Advocate from trashing the outgoing mayor’s legacy and signature accomplishment.

Public Advocate is a useless, toothless, pointless position, and DeBlasio has never accomplished anything nor run anything (other than his mouth). And he’d drag this city lower than Dinkins did.
